I want to pass on something helpful and useful. This is what motivates me.  We aren’t in this to merely survive.  We are feeding our lives to a time machine or a system that feeds on our time.  Currency bleeds out like the tickets from a skeeball game. We put in our time, play the game, and we’re not always sure what’s going to come out of it.

Of course we need food and shelter to live.  But what do we own that is more valuable than the most cherished times we’ve ever spent or the people we love?

They say time is money!  It’s true that when we’re saving money we’re saving time.  If someone works a nine to five they must know this.

Imagine that you’re on your way home from work at a job where you make $20 per hour. You decide to stop at the drugstore for a few essentials.  I really don’t care if you’re the couponing queen or king at this point. I think we have all paid full price before.  So imagine you make a full price purchase exceeding $20 at your trip to the drugstore.  Think about it.  What did you get in exchange for more than an hour of your time working? TP? Soap? We shouldn’t pay full retail for anything if we don’t have to.

Paying full price when you don’t have to is not only a waste of money, but a waste of time.  I once read that couponing was a waste of time.  I had to laugh, because not only is that statement counter intuitive, it’s misleading and not doing anyone any favors.

I’m not going to lie and say keeping the home stocked for little to no money doesn’t take any time.  But it doesn’t need to take a lot of time at all anymore. Nowadays we have all the help we need to save money.  All the information and tools necessary are literally at our fingertips. I think about the deal seeking generation before these tools existed and cannot begin to imagine how they were able to keep on. I just imagine myself being overwhelmed taking on what would’ve probably been an unsolvable puzzle to me then.  The frugal ones before us invested way more time than we will ever have to, and somehow it was worth it for them and their families.  It’s those sacrifices that have kept this movement alive today.

Saving money might have been for a special breed back in the day. But now, because of the ever growing world of technology, just about anyone can save and coupon like a professional.

If you’re new to deal seeking and couponing then welcome and I hope you keep at it.  It’s worth it.  If you’ve been doing this awhile then I’m hoping to post something here of use to you or give you some new tools to add to your arsenal.

Take time to make time…and save some money!
